There are just a few spots left for those that might want to present at the upcoming FASD and Law workshop. This event will be free for participants and will serve as a pre-conference event for those attending the 6th Annual International Conference on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder: Research, Results and Relevance. Event will be held on Tuesday, March 3, at the Westin Bayshore Hotel, Vancouver, BC.
Presenters will include: the Hon. Michael Jeffery (ret.), Judge, Superior Court, Barrow, Alaska, Frances Gordon, Crown Counsel, Vancouver, B.C. Youth Court and the Hon. Clifford Toth,
Judge, Mental Health Court, Provincial Court, Regina, Saskatchewan
This session will bring together those engaged in these practices, and, also, those who are interested in learning more. This session will facilitate a space for justice professionals and community workers to share ideas while also discussing a path forward on the difficult issues surrounding justice for those with FASD. This session welcomes presentations from those who have been researching, practicing and engaged in FASD and justice efforts. If you’d like to attend and, also, if you’d like to talk about the work you are doing on FASD and the law, please include, in your email to Kay, a brief description of the topic on which you would like to give a 10-minute presentation. Please let us know by Dec. 15th, 2014 if you are interested in attending and, also, if you are interested in presenting by emailing Kay Kelly at faslaw@uw.edu with your name, job title, work address and telephone number.
